MSI has officially unveiled the Claw 8 AI, its next-generation handheld gaming PC powered by Intel Lunar Lake processors, aiming directly at Valve Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally in the increasingly competitive handheld gaming market.
The Claw 8 AI features an 8-inch 120Hz display, Intel Core Ultra processor with integrated Arc graphics, and a dedicated NPU for on-device AI tasks like frame generation and power optimization.
Key Specifications

- Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7 (Lunar Lake) with Arc GPU
- Display: 8-inch, 1920x1080, 120Hz VRR
- Battery: 65Wh, claimed 3+ hours gaming
- Weight: 675g
- OS: Windows 11 with MSI Center M overlay
How It Compares
The Steam Deck OLED remains the value king at a lower price point, but the Claw 8 AI brings Windows compatibility and AI-enhanced features that SteamOS cannot match. The Asus ROG Ally X offers similar specs but runs on AMD hardware.
MSI claims the Intel Lunar Lake architecture delivers 25% better power efficiency than Meteor Lake, addressing one of the biggest criticisms of the original MSI Claw.
India Availability
MSI has confirmed the Claw 8 AI will launch in India within weeks of the global release, with pricing expected around Rs 75,000-85,000. This positions it competitively against the Steam Deck (import only) and ROG Ally (Rs 65,000).
